 BEEHIVE FRAMING

DISPLAY IT PROUDLY

Why conservation custom framing?
Because your memories are precious and so often they tell a story about you.
Beehive Framing offers conservation framing exclusively to preserve and protect.
Framing of precious items or important documents is an investment in it's lifespan.
Acid, light, and moisture are the enemies that cause damage.
Matboards, backing, and filler boards that are not acid free will "gas out and burn"
the objects it touches over time.  The evidence of this burn will be brown freckels, on the surface, a brown boarder where mats have covered, and/or causing the art, photos, prints, or documents that are on paper to become brittle.  Buffered boards rated "acid free" are not a subsitute for archival or cotton rag boards. The Beehive uses archival boards and acid free filler materials that are produced by the framing industry to preserve and protect. How the framed object is mounted into the frame is also very important.  It should be done in such a manner that will leave no or very little trace on the object.
The cost for these protective products are well worth the investment to preserve what you are framing.  Once the damage is done it cannot be reversed.

Glass is just as important!
Glazing, is the term used in the framing industry for glass or plexi.  It shields the framed object from dust and debri and should also block UV rays that cause fading.  Beehive's standard glazing is a conservation clear glass.  With the look of regular glass, that has a protective film that will block 97% of harmful UV rays given off by floresant lightingand even indirect sun light.
Other glazing choices are also available that provide strong protection and appear invisible.
